Our History

Founded in the 1960s as MINCO, RDS initially specialized in radon testing for mines and uranium exploration. Transitioning to residential radon testing in the mid-80s, we became Radon Detection Systems (RDS), pioneering radon inspection services nationwide. Our expertise expanded to include mold, lead, asbestos testing*, and radon mitigation, serving both residential and commercial sectors.

Operating from our Broomfield, CO office, we leverage our Colorado-based roots to offer clients peace of mind through our knowledge of local geology. Our team of certified inspectors and technicians, trained by our comprehensive program, ensures top-quality service. We hold certifications from AARST/NRPP, EPA, NEHA, IAQA, ACAC, and CO state, staying current to standards to address your environmental concerns effectively.

Before 1978, Radon Detection Systems (RDS), formerly known as MINCO, specialized in radon testing for mines and uranium exploration. In the mid-80s, we shifted our focus to offer private radon testing services in response to elevated levels of radon gas found in residential homes.

Initially, RDS was the sole provider of residential and commercial radon testing in Colorado. Since then, our service offerings have expanded to include a range of environmental services such as methane barrier/alarm systems, Radon Resistant New Construction, mold testing/remediation, lead testing, asbestos testing, and radon testing/mitigation/system design for both residential and commercial applications. Based in Broomfield, CO, our Colorado-centric approach allows us to offer clients peace of mind through our deep-rooted knowledge and expertise.
